Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where your skills keep the community moving? We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus Engineering Technician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Taff's Well. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
- Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including a laptop
- Completing the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls
- Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs
- Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience
- Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles
- Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment
- Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level
- A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail
- A team player with good communication skills
- Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)
