Looking to lead a skilled engineering team and shape the future of fleet maintenance? We’re looking for an experienced and hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead our talented team at Stagecoach Oxford. This is your opportunity to manage a modern and diverse fleet, a purpose‑built paint shop, and vital depot facilities, while developing your people, improving performance, and making a real difference to how our services run every day.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners, and apprentices to ensure our fleet is safe, clean, and road‑ready.
- Managing the maintenance and presentation of 100 vehicles.
- Overseeing depot plant and building maintenance, including compliance and health & safety.
- Managing day‑to‑day operations, resource planning, stock control, and procurement.
- Coaching and developing team members, with a focus on continuous improvement and succession planning.
- Working closely with the Engineering Director and gaining exposure to regional projects and strategic development.
- Maintaining standards in line with DVSA regulations and Stagecoach’s standards.
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering experience in a relevant sector such as bus, coach, HGV, rail, plant, or automotive.
- Strong leadership and team management skills; you may already be in a managerial role, or ready for your next step.
- A proactive, organised, and safety‑first mindset.
- Experience managing compliance, budgets, inventory, and health & safety practices.
- Passion for high standards in both vehicle performance and presentation.
