Overview
I am looking for a credited collaborator/co‑writer for a full‑draft novel titled BUDDS. The novel is an authentic working‑class story set in Blackburn, centered on friendship, loyalty, and the pressures that challenge long‑standing bonds. Welcome to the larger project, TERRA, a long‑term universe that already includes four completed novels, two storyboarded, and five planned, totaling approximately 700,000 words. This role is not a ghostwriting position; it is a genuine creative partnership where I will provide characters, world‑building, drafts, and vision. I need a partner who can challenge the material, shape structure, and help bring the strongest version to life while remaining true to the core story. Compensation will include dual acknowledgement on the cover, a 60/40 revenue split, and final creative control remaining with me.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively revise and refine the BUDDS manuscript.
- Challenge and improve structure, character arcs, and thematic depth.
- Contribute to the long‑term development of the TERRA universe.
- Work in partnership with the author to maintain narrative consistency.
- Be prepared to provide written drafts and revisions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Strong background in structure, character development, and storytelling.
- Experience with world‑building and sustaining internal logic across multiple books.
- Comfortable critiquing and challenging existing material constructively.
- Familiarity with Frank Herbert’s themes, world‑building, and deeper philosophy; knowledge of the non‑canon Dune Encyclopedia timeline is a plus.
- Proven writing portfolio and a history of successful collaborations.
Additional Information
This is a lifelong passion project; unpaid work is not viable for established writers. I will conduct any necessary checks and will only proceed with partners that meet these qualifications.
