Seeking an Executive Producer to oversee all financial, legal, and logistical operations for this ambitious short film. This is a non-creative EP role focused on production management and funding strategy. The Director retains full creative control; the EP ensures the production is funded, legally safe, and operationally strong.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage the production budget
- Oversee grants, funding applications, and crowdfunding strategy
- Manage all financial workflows (expenses, invoices, payments)
- Handle insurance, risk assessments, and compliance
- Oversee production schedule and logistics in collaboration with Line Producer
- Support permit acquisition for public/street filming
- Coordinate post‑production handoff (composer, sound, editor, colorist)
- Ensure all legal documentation and contracts are completed
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experience producing or managing finances for short films or indie productions
- Strong budgeting, planning, and organisational skills
- Familiarity with UK/Wales funding bodies (Film Cymru, BFI NETWORK) is a plus
- Comfortable working with sensitive, emotionally intense queer themes
- UK‑based preferred, but remote candidates welcome
COMPENSATION
This is a paid role contingent on secured funding (grants + crowdfunding). Once funding is confirmed, rates will align with industry‑standard short film compensation. This is not profit sharing and not deferred payment. Travel support provided for any required in‑person days.
