A well-funded, growth-stage AI software vendor operating in the insurance technology sector is looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join a high-impact, fully remote team. The company operates globally across the UK, US, EMEA & APAC, with an expanding UK presence spanning sales, marketing, customer success and engineering. The UK team operates with genuine startup autonomy, significant ownership, and a dynamic, collaborative culture.
The Role
A senior, hands-on technical implementation role working directly with enterprise clients. You will lead complex customer deployments, write and debug production and integration code, and ensure successful adoption of an AI-native platform across insurer workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain production and integration code in Python, JavaScript, and SQL as part of client implementations and internal tooling
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex customer implementations, managing timelines, risks, and plans
- Configure, integrate, and develop custom features to fit client systems and workflows
- Own customer-facing calls, UAT sessions, and issue resolution
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to manage dependencies and communicate change impacts
- Drive internal automation and process improvements to improve delivery efficiency
- Produce and maintain documentation including runbooks, best practices, and delivery playbooks
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing
What We Are Looking For
- Background in software engineering, solutions architecture, or field/customer-facing engineering
- 6-8 years of relevant experience; a formal CS degree is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- Strong hands-on skills across SQL and JavaScript; Python experience is a plus
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles, with the ability to own discovery, scope deliverables, and manage client relationships
- Able to coordinate across teams, manage dependencies, and escalate risks proactively
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to process improvements
