My client is a market leading stock-holder and distributor of extruded aluminium and PVC products used in the construction, fabrication and manufacturing sectors. They design and stock architectural glazing systems for installation in commercial and residential buildings across NI and ROI. Due to continued business growth, they now need to appoint a full-time permanent Window Fabricator / Trainer to join their R&D / Technical fabrication team.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide training in the fabrication of our window systems to our network of fabricators across the North and South of Ireland.
- Handle enquiries from fabricators offering technical support via email and phone.
- Visit client sites to provide training and carry out product testing.
- Some use of Logikal will be required (training on this software can be provided).
- Problem solve on-site issues offering practical solutions and feedback to fabrication teams.
- Sample new and existing systems for the purpose of R&D.
- Investigate tooling and ironmongery used.
- Help produce window, door and curtain wall samples for customers and architects.
Key Skills:
- Ideally, the candidate MUST have a minimum of 3-5 years experience of fabrication within the Aluminium architectural glazing industry or PVC window manufacturing/fabrication.
- Confidence in using IT would be an advantage.
- You will be able to use your own initiative and be a problem solver.
- You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills, and be a confident communicator.
- A full driving licence is required.
- You must have the capacity to adapt and learn; you will receive the necessary training in relation to all products and fabrication processes so that you can competently train others.
- You must be willing to travel to client sites from time to time.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a starting salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (negotiable), a Company Car or Allowance, Annual Bonus, Pension, Life Assurance, and 30 days holiday. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm. Smart offices are located near Lisburn.
