Staffscanner is looking for a Group Sales Director to lead new business growth across the core Staffscanner business and other new-to-market technology and service products within the wider group. This is a senior commercial role for someone who can win business personally, open doors at a senior level and help build a stronger, more structured sales approach as the business grows. We are not looking for a strategy-only sales leader. This role needs someone who is comfortable being out in the market, creating opportunities, leading conversations and converting deals.
The role is group in scope, but the immediate focus is on winning new clients, building pipeline and creating commercial momentum across products with strong market potential. The successful candidate will need to be credible with senior buyers, particularly in private healthcare and care-related markets, and able to build traction quickly.
Role purpose
The Group Sales Director will be responsible for driving new business revenue, building a high-quality pipeline and helping shape the future sales function across the group. This role combines direct sales delivery with leadership. In the early phase, the postholder will personally lead business development activity, manage high-value opportunities and establish a more consistent commercial rhythm. Over time, they will help define how the wider sales function should develop.
Key responsibilities
- New business generation
- Take ownership of new business growth across Staffscanner and other new-to-market group products
- Personally lead outbound activity, relationship development, discovery meetings, proposals, negotiation and conversion
- Build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across target sectors
- Win new logo clients and drive commercial momentum across the group portfolio
- Deliver against agreed sales targets and revenue expectations
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers across private healthcare, care and related sectors
- Open strategic conversations with chief executives, managing directors, chief operating officers, people leaders and operational leaders
- Represent the business credibly in high-value, commercially important conversations
- Develop trust quickly and move opportunities forward with pace and structure
- Bring stronger sales discipline, visibility and consistency to the commercial process
- Improve forecasting, pipeline management and reporting
- Help refine sales messaging, proposition framing and objection handling
- Work closely with leadership on target sectors, commercial priorities and deal strategy
- Work closely with the Group Managing Director and wider leadership team on growth priorities
- Feed market insight back into product, service development and positioning
- Work with marketing and customer teams to support joined-up acquisition and retention activity
- Help make sure commercial activity is aligned with delivery capability and business priorities
- Help define the future shape of the sales function as the business grows
- Support hiring, onboarding and coaching of future commercial team members where required
- Contribute to a more repeatable and scalable sales approach across the group
What success looks like in the first 12 months
- A stronger and more predictable pipeline is in place
- New client wins have been secured across priority areas
- The business has greater visibility of sales activity, forecast and conversion
- Senior-level relationships have been established across target markets
- A clearer and more scalable commercial approach is starting to take shape
- The role is making a visible contribution to revenue growth and market traction
What we are looking for
- Strong track record in senior sales leadership or new business roles
- Experience winning complex business in healthcare, care, technology or service-led sectors
- Strong ability to generate opportunities and convert them personally
- Comfortable working in a growth-stage or founder-led environment
- Credibility with senior stakeholders and strong commercial judgement
- Good discipline around pipeline, reporting and forecasting
- Able to balance hands-on selling with leadership input
Desirable
- Existing network in private healthcare, care or related sectors
- Experience selling software, workforce solutions, operational services or technology-enabled services
- Experience helping shape or scale a commercial function
