We are seeking a Fabrication Manager for a full-time permanent position based in Wimborne, Dorset. The Fabrication Manager will complete site fabrication surveys either from actual site visits or architect’s drawings to include ‘bill of materials’, estimate jobs and hours as required, coordination and liaising with sites to meet their requirements and scheduling. Package: £45k (Negotiable) + PRIVATE HEALTH/PENSION + BENEFITS Basic Schedule: Monday to Friday To complete site fabrication surveys either from actual site visits or architect’s drawings to include ‘bill of materials’, estimate jobs and hours as required, coordination and liaising with sites to meet their requirements and scheduling. To behave in a professional and helpful manner at all times, solving problems as and when they arise. Responsibilities & Duties * Site Measure – visiting sites (to include large building site as well as private homes) to measure up for all aspects of work we do for conversions into drawings * Drawing design – doing some, not necessary all, the drawings for the fabricators to produce the work, stairs, balconies, etc, liaising with engineers to ensure regulatory compliance. * Liaising with clients to ensure their requirements are met in line with project specifications * Create accurate BoM’s for purposes of quoting and materials order * Estimating – after site measurements or from supplied drawings to enable us to accurately produce quotations * Co-ordination of sites/scheduling * Ensure and track budgeted hours match actual hours for both fabrication and site work * Ensure compliance and good H&S and housekeeping practises are followed * Quality control – generally keeping an eye on things both workshop and site to ensure fabrication is going the way it was designed * Working with MD to assist grow and develop the business There will be an element of training the lessor experienced, again either in shop or on site, plus an involvement in staff performance and recruitment where appropriate
