Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strip Fitter to join a busy and fast‑paced bodyshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for stripping and refitting vehicle components to facilitate repairs and ensure vehicles are restored to manufacturer and customer standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove and refit vehicle components including bumpers, doors, wings, trims, lights, and interior panels.
  • Safely dismantle vehicles to enable repair work to be carried out.
  • Reassemble vehicles following repair, ensuring all components are fitted correctly and securely.
  • Identify and report any additional damage or parts required.
  • Carry out basic mechanical and electrical fitting work as required.
  • Ensure vehicles are restored to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
  • Work closely with panel technicians, painters, and preppers to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Meet productivity targets while maintaining high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Strip Fitter, MET Technician, or within an automotive bodyshop environment.
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Ability to remove and refit components efficiently and accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 0700-1530
