To set, operate, and maintain press brake machinery used in the manufacture of metal components, ensuring products are produced accurately, safely, and in line with engineering drawings and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and technical specifications.
  • Select and install correct tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
  • Carry out machine adjustments to achieve accurate dimensions and quality standards.
  • Perform first-off inspections and regular quality checks during production runs.
  • Measure finished components using gauges, rulers, verniers, and other measuring equipment.
  • Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved efficiently.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and report faults or breakdowns promptly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
  • Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Follow all company health & safety and quality procedures at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Press Setter, Press Brake Setter, or Press Brake Operator.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Experience setting and operating press brake machinery.
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing health & safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience with CNC press brake machines.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
