The University of Staffordshire is looking for a Technical Assistant to join our Science Technical Team. This is a hands‑on role based in our teaching rooms and laboratories. It is not mainly desk‑based, and no two days are the same.
We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and enjoys helping others. If you like working with equipment, solving problems and learning new skills, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll work closely with staff and students, helping to prepare teaching activities and making sure laboratories and equipment are ready to use.
What You'll Do
- Set up and clear away equipment, materials and resources for practical sessions
- Support staff and students during teaching activities
- Answer questions and help solve simple technical problems
- Help keep laboratories clean, safe and organised
- Check and organise equipment and supplies
- Help make sure teaching spaces are ready for use each day
- Work with colleagues to keep technical areas running smoothly
