The University of Staffordshire is seeking a dedicated, community-minded and proactive Campus Security Officer to join our Security Team on a part-time night-shift pattern (2 nights on, 6 nights off). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment, makes confident and fair decisions, and is committed to delivering excellent support and customer service to our diverse university community. This is not a traditional security role. It is active and physically demanding, and you will play a key part in creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming campus for students, staff and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing exceptional customer service to students, colleagues and visitors, ensuring everyone feels respected and supported.
  • Supporting university events as required throughout the year.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development, including opportunities to build skills relevant to the role and wider university operations.
  • Responding to first aid incidents, fire alarms and panic alarms, ensuring calm, safe and timely action.
  • Using digital systems confidently, including CCTV, access control, fire systems and incident-reporting tools.
  • Night shifts on a 2 on / 6 off rotation. Shifts are typically 10-12 hours.
