Overview
The Facilities Manager will provide leadership and management for facilities services at the University of Staffordshire London campus, including security, cleaning, waste disposal, and portering, while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. The postholder will lead on and manage contractors and maintenance service providers as well as supporting the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of all areas of the London campus. The role will support events and projects such as graduations, manage campus access and security of equipment, oversee the maintenance budget to ensure cost-effective services and implementing Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role also ensures compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and emergency preparedness in coordination with the central estates team & the Head of Health and Safety.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead FM Services: Oversee security, cleaning, portering, window cleaning, waste/recycling; manage external contractors, landlord (Here East), and ensure H&S compliance with Heads of Compliance and Health & Safety.
- Deliver FM for events (e.g., graduation); coordinate contractor access for compliance/reactive works and secure equipment.
- Ensure efficient, best-value FM delivery; implement, maintain, and monitor SLAs, with compliance overseen by London Senior Management Team
- Monitor & Improve: Conduct quarterly reviews/audits of FM services with Compliance Engineer and Stoke estates team; report findings and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate & Deputise: Work closely with Head of Operations, deputise as needed, support campus activities and student experience.
- Ensure H&S Compliance: Align all operations with university/statutory H&S standards, risk assessments, method statements, permits; lead critical incidents/business continuity with Stoke estates and Here East.
