An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University of Staffordshire to join the Financial Services Department as an Assistant Management Accountant within the Finance Business Partnering Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, the postholder will support the provision of high-quality financial management and analysis across the University, working closely with academic Schools, Professional Services, and colleagues within Finance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To support the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis and clear narrative commentary.
  • To effectively communicate financial information to key stakeholders, providing appropriate support and constructive challenge where required.
  • To actively contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • To support the Business Partnering Team with day-to-day financial activities.
  • To provide a responsive financial analysis service to Schools, Central Service Departments, and internal Finance colleagues, dealing with routine and non-routine queries.
  • To proactively contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes and new activity, ensuring the maintenance of strong financial controls and integrity.
  • To undertake ad hoc duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and develop within a Higher Education finance environment. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong Excel and financial modelling skills, and proven experience working within a finance function.
