As a Superintendent, you will play a critical role in delivering our Force priorities. These include:

About The Role
As a Superintendent, you will:
- Lead a large and/or complex area of command within forces and across collaborations, strategic alliances and partnerships, carrying responsibility for all activities in their area.
- Carry responsibility for strategic or policy lead for one or more areas of policing across the force or organisation.
- Play a critical lead role in operational policing for major or critical events or incidents, including planning and directing the activities in line with the legal framework and wider policing policies/objectives to uphold the law, ensure public safety and strengthen public confidence.
- Carry specific legal powers to enable the maintenance of law and order.
- Contribute to the development of culture, climate and working processes in their area to ensure adherence to standards, and the promotion of accountability and continuous improvement.
Skills, Experience & Behaviours:
COP Role Profile – Superintendent, link to profile: Superintendent | College of Policing Command Qualification. Applicants should hold a current command skill at PPF/Command Level appropriate for Superintendent roles. There will be an essential requirement to participate in the Silver rota, supporting wider force command and control. There is also an expectation to work towards accreditation in wider command functions such as PIP 3/4, Public Order, and Firearms.
