Police Constable to Sergeant Promotion Process
Are you ready to take the next step in your policing career by leading and motivating a diverse team of officers and staff? Could you improve performance at every level to reduce crime, protect the vulnerable, improve public confidence and deliver high levels of victim satisfaction? With a number of vacancies across local policing, we are excited to announce that we are now open for applications for the Police Constable to Sergeant Promotion process.
Awareness session
An awareness session will be hosted on Tuesday 9th September 2025, from 5.30pm online via Microsoft Teams. Here, you will have the opportunity to hear our Temp Chief Constable Becky Riggs talk about the role and the process, and have the chance to ask any questions. If you are not able to attend this event a recording will be available for you to view.

To apply please complete the applications forms and answer the 2 Written Questions (max of 500 words).
The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 22nd September 2025 (9:00am).
For those that pass the application stage Briefing and Interviews will take place on W.C 6th October 2025 / W.C 13th October 2025 and W.C 20th October 2025. Further support session will be available for this stage of the process.
