About The Opportunity

We have 1 opening for the Justice Services Support Unit Evidence Processor / Typist. The role requires using a QWERTY keyboard or voice recognition software to process statements of evidence and prepare summaries of interviews, forming part of prosecution files, and ensuring compliance with legal and Force Policy guidelines for interview transcripts. Both audio and copy typing skills are essential, with a typing speed of at least 40 wpm and accuracy over 80%.

The post holder will also be responsible for secure storage, retention and retrieval of all audio and visual media (e.g., tapes, DVDs). The successful candidates progressing to interview will be required to complete an Audio and Copy Typing test achieving a minimum speed of 40 wpm and minimum accuracy of 80% in both audio and copy typing.

Responsibilities

  • Process statements of evidence and prepare summaries of interviews for prosecution files.
  • Ensure transcripts comply with legal and Force Policy guidelines.
  • Perform secure storage, retention and retrieval of audio/visual media (tapes, DVDs, etc.).
  • Complete audio and copy typing tests during interview selection (40 wpm and 80% accuracy in both modes).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with accuracy above 80% (audio and copy typing).
  • Proficiency in keyboard data entry or voice recognition software for evidence processing and interview summaries.
  • Ability to handle secure storage and retrieval of media in line with policy guidelines.
