Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking experienced leaders to join as Station Managers. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for managing operational delivery, driving performance, and ensuring the safety and resilience of our communities and our crews.
Salary – NJC National Pay scale. Station Manager: £50,135 per annum (Development) to £55,301 per annum (Competent B). Contract Type: Substantive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, monitor, and support teams to resolve operational incidents effectively.
- Oversee inspections and investigations, ensuring hazards and risks are identified and mitigated.
- Plan and implement activities to meet Service delivery needs, including resource allocation and budget management.
- Manage team and individual performance, providing feedback and resolving issues.
- Develop teams and individuals to enhance work-based performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain situational awareness and apply problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
This position demands exceptional leadership, clear and confident communication, and a collaborative approach when working across the Service and with external partners. The Core Code of Ethics should be integral to all activities, driving operational excellence and high performance throughout the Service. Responsibilities include strategic planning, effective resource management, and incident command, ensuring community safety while empowering and supporting teams.

Eligibility Criteria
This process is open to whole-time substantive competent Crew Managers and whole-time substantive in development or competent Watch Managers. Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant operational experience and leadership capability. Successful candidates will be required to undertake any necessary training for the role.
