ASSIST provides access and support for people who have hearing and/or vision loss. The service has a focus on supporting adults in community, workplace, and further & higher education settings.
Main Responsibilities
- Help with the day‑to‑day running of ASSIST, by working together with the Sensory Support Co‑ordinators and reporting to the Project Co‑ordinator.
- Help organise community and education work which involves regular communication with staff, customers and partners.
- Need an eye for detail as you create, maintain and update electronic files, paper‑based files and Outlook diaries, in a way that everyone in the team can access and understand.
- Have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, knowledge and understanding in relation to sensory impairment.
The Ideal Candidate
- You must have experience in administration or equivalent qualification.
- NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or high‑level computer skills.
- Confident and competent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Hearing and vision impairment knowledge would be useful; however, specialist training will be provided in this area if you do not have this knowledge.
