If you are, then you won’t want to miss out on this excellent job opportunity. We are looking for a Senior Behavioural Science Specialist with a high level of knowledge and skill to embed skills and expertise around the application of behavioural science to improve public health and wider population outcomes. As part of our talented, specialist, dynamic and friendly team, you will be essential in our mission to enable the routine use of behavioural science across the public health team and beyond. You will initially focus on smoking cessation and tobacco control, but there is a requirement to also support other public health priority areas.
Main Responsibilities:
- This is a technical behavioural science role requiring experience in using behaviour change approaches to support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a range of behavioural science initiatives to optimise service design, programme delivery, and key health outcomes.
- You will provide specialist expertise in the use of theories, models and frameworks from behavioural science, including:
- Lead the development and delivery of behavioural science training, tools and guidance to build capability.
- Specialist behavioural science advice, consultation, and support.
- Assess, formulate and evaluate behavioural science-based interventions for specific populations/audiences.
- Undertake and disseminate behavioural analyses, and the gathering and synthesis of behavioural insight to inform action.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders to develop and agree approaches to support incorporation of behavioural science.
The Ideal Candidate:
- This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has:
- Highly developed specialist knowledge and experience of applying key theoretical concepts, models and frameworks in behavioural sciences.
- Significant experience of using multiple sources of evidence (qualitative and quantitative) to develop behavioural insight to inform behaviour change interventions.
- Significant experience of research and evaluation methods for understanding effectiveness of behaviour change interventions.
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating training.
- The ability to respond innovatively in a dynamic and expanding field of work.
- Excellent and demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills.
