An opportunity has arisen to join Staffordshire County Council as part of a forward-thinking and innovative team during a significant period of information and records management development.
The Records Management Advisor role is essential for implementing the Information Management Strategy and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices across Staffordshire County Council.
We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with attendance at our modern Stafford-based office at least once a week or as needed.
Main Responsibilities
The role involves working within the Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS) delivery team, responsible for implementing a new records management system, leading transformational change, and embedding excellent information management practices. Managing records throughout their lifecycle with quality and integrity is vital.
Some main responsibilities include:
- Supporting and providing specialist advice to service areas through the information management programme, including developing training, guidance, and procedural documentation.
- Advising on and developing retention schedules, access controls, and functional file plans.
The Ideal Candidate
We seek candidates who are passionate about information and records management and possess:
- Holding or working towards a record management qualification or relevant professional experience in records and information management implementation.
- Experience with Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS) implementation and management, with a clear understanding of EDRMS principles.
- Analytical, inquisitive, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels, including verbal, written, and digital.
- Experience working in dynamic, challenging environments with good time management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory issues related to information management and compliance.
