Main Responsibilities

  • Work with families across the continuum of need from Child In Need to the conclusion of Care Proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Early Help, Children in Care, Care Leavers, Children with Disabilities, health and education services under a district model.
  • Coordinate statutory duties, including completing child plans and ensuring children are seen and heard.
  • Conduct Section 47 investigations.
  • Place children into Local Authority care when it is agreed they can no longer remain at home.
  • Prepare Private and Public Law reports.
  • Refer children to centralised specialist support and services.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ideally has completed ASYE before starting the role.
  • Desire to work with children and families to provide timely support with the aim of keeping families together where safe.
