How to prepare for a job interview at Stafford Lawrence

Know Your Numbers

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you’ll need to demonstrate your expertise in cost management and planning. Brush up on key figures related to your past projects, including budgets, timelines, and any cost-saving measures you implemented. Being able to discuss these specifics will show your potential employer that you’re not just a number-cruncher but a strategic thinker.

Showcase Your Leadership Skills

Since the role involves mentoring and leading less experienced team members, be prepared to share examples of how you've successfully guided others in your previous roles. Think about specific situations where you helped someone develop their skills or took charge of a project. This will highlight your ability to lead and collaborate effectively.

Understand the Company Culture

Research the company’s values and recent projects to understand their culture better. During the interview, relate your answers back to how you align with their mission and how you can contribute to their ongoing success. This shows that you’re genuinely interested in being part of their team and not just looking for any job.

Prepare Questions

Interviews are a two-way street, so prepare thoughtful questions to ask your interviewers. Inquire about their current projects, team dynamics, or future growth plans. This not only demonstrates your interest in the role but also gives you valuable insights into whether this is the right fit for you.
