Working as a Tug driver across the Humber Ports within a team to ensure the safe discharge of cargo, tug drivers are critical to the function of the port. Ports operate 24/7 so flexibility is essential to success within the role. Operating a Tugmaster to pull trailers Operating a Tug Tipper to transfer cargo Quayside duties as required which may include Slinger Banksman under the crane or Vehicle Banksman to ensure safe flow of traffic Completing daily machinery checks Working as part of a team to ensure safety within all operationsWhat experience do you need to be a Tug Driver? To be a successful tug driver you must have a good understanding of Health and Safety as well as a Full UK Driving licence, experience driving large vehicles such as HGV, LGV or Buses is highly desirable. Full UK Driving Licence Previous experience operating a Tugmaster or Tug Tipper is highly desirable however training can be provided Previous experience as a RoRo tug driver is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided Experience operating large vehicles such as HGV, LGV, 7t+, Coaches or Buses is desirable but not essential Flexible approach to work Keen to learn new skills Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable e.g. Tug Driver, Roro Driver, Lorry Driver, Port Operative.
