PAY RATE: £31,000- £33,000 (Depending on experience)

LOCATION: Immingham

HOURS: 8.30AM -5PM

Job Role

  • Responsible for managing all road transport operations, overseeing domestic and international freight movements for import and export shipments.
  • This includes coordinating PTL/PFS road freight, ensuring efficient logistics planning, shipment monitoring, and compliance across all transport activities.
  • Lead with the day-to-day operational planning of the road freight and liaise with the teams in our other hubs to ensure good and efficient planning.
  • Liaising with our finance department to ensure effective facilitation with accounts.
  • Monitor the performance of the road freight, striving for improving efficiencies.
  • Working as part of a team, engage in problem-solving options for problematic shipments and managing client expectations when issues arise.
  • Ensuring information is communicated effectively to both external and internal customers / departments.
  • Negotiating with domestic transport and logistic services companies and manage the procurement of those services with ongoing review of performance and market cost analysis.
  • Providing input and information to top tier and key account clients.
  • Working in line with all company policies, ensuring they follow QHSE and regulatory expectations.
  • Preparing client specific reports.
  • Preparing and presenting shipment reports to key stakeholders.
  • Liaising with clients and transport companies to coordinate collection and deliveries.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years' experience in managing road freight operations supporting a wide range of customers.
  • Great team working skills.
  • General knowledge of freight forwarding, break bulk, heavy lift, over dimensional and special project cargo.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and relationship skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • High attention to detail and strong planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
