We are currently recruiting for a Production Plant Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business in the Thirsk area. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience operating production machinery within a manufacturing environment, or for technically minded individuals looking to develop their skills through full training and ongoing support. Due to the site location, candidates must have their own transport.
The Role
As a Production Plant Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality products. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring machinery while maintaining excellent safety and quality standards across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate pellet press equipment
- Monitor production processes to maintain quality and efficiency
- Ensure all operations comply with food safety and site procedures
- Carry out routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Work collaboratively with the wider production team to improve operations
- Accurately complete production and reporting documentation
Skills
- Previous experience in a mill, manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Experience operating pellet presses is advantageous
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual and highly motivated
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using IT systems for reporting purposes
- Positive relationship builder with excellent communication skills
- Physically fit and able to work in a busy environment
Working Hours
Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 6:00pm
Friday: 6:00am - 4:00pm
