A leading steel infrastructure manufacturer is seeking a proactive Senior Design Engineer to support and guide its growing engineering team. This role blends hands-on design work with team coordination, planning and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the internal engineering design team.
- Plan and delegate design workload; communicate lead times.
- Produce and review engineering designs for steel infrastructure products.
- Create 3D CAD models and drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
- Carry out structural calculations and support FEA work.
- Collaborate with project management, production, procurement and sales.
- Ensure accurate, high-quality design output within deadlines.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve design/manufacturing queries.
About You
- Degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in steel manufacturing or fabrication.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (ideally SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of structural calculations; some FEA experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, solutions-focused and confident leading others.
