Mechanical Fitter in Sheffield
Salary: £37,230 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8-hour day shifts
Overtime: Call-out cover available
We're looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client's engineering team at their Sheffield production facility. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring production equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
The Role
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on site equipment
- Coordinate servicing and maintenance activities with production teams
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of spare parts
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with site health and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, or similar
- MIG welding and fabrication experience (essential)
- Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous)
- Good IT skills, including standard PC applications
- A proactive approach with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
