Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £14.43 - £16.09 per hour
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts - 6:00am to 2:00pm / 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Monday to Friday) with early finishes on Fridays (6-hour shifts).
Stafforce Recruitment is recruiting for a Hand Forge Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in forging, heavy engineering or manufacturing who is looking for a long-term role within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate hand forging equipment safely and efficiently using foot-pedal controls.
- Handle and position heated components throughout the forging process.
- Produce components to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out visual quality inspections and identify any defects.
- Follow engineering drawings, job cards and standard operating procedures.
- Record production information accurately and report any issues.
- Complete basic equipment checks and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Work safely around hot materials, machinery and tooling.
- Support production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within forging, heavy engineering or a manufacturing environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working with hot materials in a physically demanding role.
- Ability to follow work instructions and maintain high quality standards.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- FLT, overhead crane or manual handling experience is advantageous.
- First Aid or Fire Marshal experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
