Tug Drivers based at Portsmouth International Port. Immediate start, temporary position. Monday to Sunday shifts are usually 3 to 4 hours, and you will be paid for 8 hours each shift: £15.00 for early and day shifts, £17.00 for evening shifts.
About the Role: We are currently seeking several experienced and reliable TUG RORO Drivers to join our client based in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and cargo within the port/industrial site using a RORO (Roll-on/Roll-off) tug vehicle. You will be responsible for transporting trailers, containers, and vehicles in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate TUG vehicles to move trailers, containers, and vehicles within the port/terminal area.
- Ensure the safe and efficient loading/unloading of cargo in a timely manner.
- Perform daily safety checks on the TUG vehicle and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with port/yard staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate logs of work completed and equipment usage.
- Assist with any other yard operations as required.
Requirements:
- Valid UK driving license, ideally with a TUG Masters License.
- Previous experience operating TUG vehicles, or similar heavy equipment, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a port/industrial environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
