Stafforce Ports are recruiting for Rigger/Lasher Port Operatives to work for our prestigious client at Tilbury Docks.
Responsibilities:
- Working on ships/vessels supporting the loading and unloading of containers and lorry trailers.
- Forming part of a team chaining & unchaining cargo on the ship to secure it prior to sailing.
- Potentially working as a Banks-person controlling traffic onboard the vessel and ensuring the safe positioning of your team.
- Inspecting tools and cargo and reporting any safety concerns or damages.
- Abiding by all health & safety protocols to aid in ensuring yourself & colleagues remain safe in the workplace.
Skills:
- Previous port experience is a benefit but not essential as full & comprehensive training will be provided.
- Ability to pass safety critical environment tests such as drug & alcohol testing.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred due to early start times but is not essential.
- Ability to work in an industrial high focused safety critical work area and perform physical tasks.
- A strong attention to detail and accuracy whilst onboard ship.
In return we offer the following:
- Pay rates from £13.30 to £20.40 per hour with an additional £1.50 per hour attendance bonus when criteria is met.
- Working on a fully PAYE basis you will be paid weekly a week in arrears.
- Accrued holiday pay based on hours worked.

- All PPE supplied along with a welfare facility.
- Contact with the support team 24/7.
- Ongoing temporary work with a weekly rota supplied a week in advance.
