We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Operator / CNC Machinist to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Pickering. Working within a modern machining environment, you'll operate advanced CNC equipment producing high-quality, tight-tolerance components for a growing and successful business. What's in it for you?

  • Training Period: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm Approx. 6 months £17.92 per hour
  • Permanent Day Shift: 4 on / 4 off rotation 6:30am - 6:00pm 44 hours per week £18.65 per hour £35 day shift allowance per shift (paid when worked and during holidays)

The Role

As a CNC Operator, you'll play a key role in the production of precision-engineered components, ensuring quality, efficiency and safety standards are consistently met. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting and operating high-speed CNC machines including milling, drilling, tapping and grinding equipment
  • Preparing tooling, fixtures and CNC programs for production
  • Loading materials and monitoring machine performance
  • Carrying out basic CNC program edits and tool table management
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Maintaining tooling, cutters and machine consumables
  • Completing production documentation and quality checks
  • Working with 3-axis and 4-axis machining centres and Renishaw probing systems
  • Following all health, safety and quality procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Setter or CNC Machinist
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work
