Loading shovel operator Location: Immingham Salary: £12.71 - £25.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time / Permanent / 12 hour shifts Pay is based on tonnage - the more you bag the more you earn. Job Overview We are currently recruiting an experienced Port Plant Driver / Loading Shovel Operator to join a busy and fast-paced port operations team in Immingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled heavy plant operator with experience in bulk handling, materials movement, and port logistics. As a Loading Shovel Driver in a port environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient loading, unloading, and movement of cargo, including aggregates, biomass, minerals, and other bulk materials. Key Responsibilities Operate loading shovels safely and efficiently Carry out bulk cargo handling operations within a port terminal Load and unload materials from vessels, hoppers, and storage areas Perform daily plant checks, maintenance, and safety inspections Work in line with port health & safety regulations and procedures Support wider quayside and terminal operations as required Maintain productivity in a high-volume logistics environment Ensure accurate stock movement and minimise material loss Key Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Loading Shovel Driver / Plant Operator Valid / expired Loading Shovel Licence (NPORS, CPCS, or equivalent) Experience working in a port, quarry, aggregates, or industrial environment Strong understanding of health & safety within heavy plant operations Ability to work shifts including days, nights, weekends Team player with a proactive and reliable attitude Experience with bulk materials handling or port logistics (highly desirable) Benefits Competitive hourly rate + overtime opportunities Long-term, stable work in a growing UK ports sector Training and career development within port operations & heavy plant PPE and on-site support provided Opportunity to work with leading logistics and shipping operationsS93 About Us We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
