An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Buyer to join a busy manufacturing and engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing engineering components, materials, and services to support production and operational requirements. This role requires a commercially minded individual with strong supplier management skills and a good understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Requesting quotations from suppliers for components prior to placing orders
- Placing purchase orders and ensuring delivery dates are adhered to
- Overseeing workload and engineering assistants
- Liaising with stored department, to ensure efficient running and progressing of deliveries
- Collating engineering drawings on receipt of parts lists from drawing office prior to issuing for manufacture
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Procurement Officer, Purchasing Coordinator, or Supply Chain Specialist
- Experience purchasing engineering components, mechanical parts, electrical components, consumables, or manufacturing materials
- Ability to manage stock levels and ensure continuity of supply
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
