We are looking to recruit an experienced Heavy Engineering Fitter to repair, service and install both new and used balers, crushers, conveyors and shears at customer sites across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in heavy engineering or a similar mechanical fitting role
  • A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required
  • Ability to complete and maintain accurate documentation and service records in a timely manner
  • A strong commitment to following health and safety procedures at all times

Due to the nature of the work, this role involves working on heavy engineering machinery including balers, shears, crushers and related equipment. Working away from home and weekend work are essential when required. As the company provides breakdown support throughout the UK, work may be planned in advance or may involve responding to emergency call-outs at short notice.

The starting salary is between £17.50 and £19.50 per hour, depending on experience. A work phone and company van will be provided following a satisfactory probation period. This is a 40+ hour per week role and, as outlined above, you must be willing to travel and stay away when needed. Overtime is paid at time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.
