Pay Rates:
- Days: £16.00 per hour
- Nights: £24.00 per hour
- Saturday: £24.00 per hour until midnight
- Saturday after midnight: £32.00 per hour
- Sunday Nights: £32.00 per hour
Shift Pattern: Rotating shift pattern: 6.00 - 18.00 or 18.00 - 6.00, 10 shifts. Ongoing work available for the right candidates.
About the Role: We are looking for experienced Tug Drivers / Shunter Drivers to join a busy port operation. The role involves moving bulk products, trailers, around designated port routes and operational areas. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous tug, shunting, container, trailer, or HGV driving experience who are looking for long-term work within a fast-paced port environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tug and shunt vehicles safely within the port.
- Move trailers, containers, and bulk products between operational areas.
- Complete vehicle safety inspections before and after shifts.
- Follow all site and port health & safety procedures.
- Liaise with operations teams to ensure the efficient movement of cargo.
- Report vehicle defects and safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a safe and professional approach at all times.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous Tug Driver, Shunter Driver, or HGV Driving experience.
- Full, valid UK driving licence with no major endorsements.
- Must have your own transport and be able to travel to site.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- Good understanding of health and safety in a transport or industrial environment.
- Successful candidates must complete a driving assessment before starting.
Desirable Experience:
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Container haulage experience.
- Trailer movement or yard shunting experience.
- Previous experience working in a port, terminal, logistics, or transport environment.
- Experience handling bulk products.
