This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy mobile plant and operational machinery, supporting business-critical operations on site. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on heavy mobile plant
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-related faults
- Strip down and rebuild machinery components
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and manuals
- Maintain accurate records using digital systems and tablets
- Support operational efficiency by minimising equipment downtime
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and diesel engines
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- IT literate and comfortable using digital tools
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Fault finding at component level (hydraulics)
- Knowledge of 3-phase electrics
- Experience with lathes, milling machines
