An established and well-respected organisation operating within a busy industrial and port environment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its growing engineering team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy mobile plant and operational machinery, supporting business-critical operations on site. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on heavy mobile plant
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-related faults
  • Strip down and rebuild machinery components
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and manuals
  • Maintain accurate records using digital systems and tablets
  • Support operational efficiency by minimising equipment downtime

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and diesel engines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • IT literate and comfortable using digital tools
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

  • Fault finding at component level (hydraulics)
  • Knowledge of 3-phase electrics
  • Experience with lathes, milling machines
