What is the role of a Port Administrator?
- Working as a Port Administrator at Immingham docks within a team to ensure the smooth administration of freight imports and exports with the Humber port
- Ensuring compliance in all documentation for freight
- Using Microsoft office and Destin8
- Delivering excellent customer service to all port users
- Liaising with clients and shipping agents in the timely delivery of cargo
- Accurate record keeping
What experience do you need to be successful as a Port Administrator?
- A successful Port administrator will thrive in a busy environment and have excellent attention to detail
- Previous experience working within the Ports and sector is highly desirable however other similar sectors will be considered such as Logistics and Warehousing, Rail or Freight
- Previous experience using Destin8 is highly desirable
- Previous experience using SAP systems is highly desirable
- Good understanding of Customs documentation procedure is desirable but not essential
- Team player with a flexible approach to work
- Keen to learn new skills
- Previous experience in a similar role such as Import Administrator, Export Co-ordinator, Port Administrator, Shipping Agent, Transport Co-ordinator, Freight Administrator or Warehouse Administrator is highly desirable
