Overview

Staffline is recruiting for a Waste Driver to work for our client at London Heathrow Airport. Applicants require a minimum of 3 years of residence in the UK. A full UK Manual Driving Licence must be held. The rate of pay is £14.03 per hour. Shift patterns include morning or afternoon shifts, with a rotational roster of 5 days working, 3 days off, and flexibility with start times. The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 5 on, 3 off schedule and must be fully flexible with the days and hours you can work. This could be subject to change. The employment is subject to background checks such as DBS and 5-year references.

Responsibilities

  • Able to drive a D1 vehicle; a manual driving licence is required.
  • Be trained in manual handling to lift bags into the vehicle.
  • Pre- and post-vehicle checks.
  • Fueling of the vehicle.
  • Clean up of spillages.
  • Use the Grundon compactor and be trained in how to remove waste from the waste vehicle into the Grundon compactor.
  • Maintain good attention to detail and observe all health and safety and airport regulations.
  • Sanitisation of the vehicle.
  • Handling cleaning materials with care to minimise damage.
  • Check all equipment containers for cleanliness and damage and report any damage to the CQS or FLM immediately.
  • Ensure all customers and equipment are returned at the end of the service.
  • Respond to callbacks promptly and timely.
  • Ensure all waste is collected from the Cleaning teams by following the correct process.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
  • A manual driving licence is required.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and follow instructions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a very busy operational environment.
  • Very good attention to detail, reliable and flexible.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
  • 5 years UK checkable history (employment and/or education and/or unemployment).
  • No unspent Criminal Convictions (subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act).
