Senior Quality Engineer required by well-established Tewkesbury based business to take a leading role in driving product quality across a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved, leading investigations, and acting as the primary point of contact for customer quality matters.
Main Duties Senior Quality Engineer
- Leading and developing the Quality Inspection team, setting clear standards and expectations
- Taking ownership of product quality, including authority to stop production where risks are identified
- Driving a right-first-time, zero-defect culture across manufacturing
- Leading customer-facing quality activities, including non-conformances, concessions, and investigations
- Conducting structured root cause analysis (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys) and implementing effective corrective actions
- Analysing quality data to identify trends and drive improvementSupporting audits and ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Senior Quality Engineer
- Proven experience in a senior or lead quality role within electronics, PCB manufacturing, or a similar industry
- Strong background in customer-facing quality and complex investigations
- Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience leading or mentoring quality or inspection teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Familiarity with IPC standards and audit processes
