Stafline Derry is hiring on behalf of Fabplus. Fabplus is a market-leading pipe fabrication company for the Mechanical and Sprinkler Industry. Located in Strabane, Co. Tyrone, we use state-of-the-art systems including precision cutting, threading, grooving, and automated welding. Our service is based on experience, knowledge, and reliability. We are currently seeking an experienced and commercially minded Sprinkler Pipework Fabrication Estimator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing fire sprinkler drawings and specifications, completing accurate material take-offs, and preparing fabrication estimates and quotations for sprinkler pipework projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review sprinkler drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Complete detailed material take-offs from sprinkler fabrication and design drawings.
  • Measure pipework quantities by diameter and system/area.
  • Quantify grooved fittings, couplings, tees, elbows, reducers, flanges and associated materials.
  • Quantify welded/threaded outlets, sprinkler drops and other fabricated components.
  • Identify feed mains, risers, manifolds and specialist fabrication requirements.
  • Calculate fabrication labour and material requirements.
  • Prepare accurate project estimates and customer quotations.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, design teams, procurement and production.
  • Maintain estimating records and assist with project handover following order placement.
  • Review completed projects against original estimates to improve future pricing accuracy.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience within the fire sprinkler, mechanical pipework or pipe fabrication industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret sprinkler and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of pipe sizes, fittings, grooved systems and fabrication processes.
  • Experience completing detailed material take-offs.
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel and general computer skills.
  • Experience with estimating or take-off software would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work accurately to deadlines and manage multiple quotations simultaneously.

This is an important commercial role within the business, working closely with our sales, design, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure projects are accurately estimated and competitively priced. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sprinkler pipework fabrication and be capable of taking a project from initial drawings through to a complete fabrication estimate and quotation.
