The Role:

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Recruitment Consultant to join our Derry/Londonderry team. This is a varied role combining recruitment, candidate management, client relationships and business development. You will manage vacancies from initial client brief through to successful placement while building strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality recruitment service, meeting agreed targets and identifying opportunities to grow and develop client accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Candidate Management:
    • Manage the full recruitment process from sourcing and screening candidates through to placement.
    • Source and build talent pools for current and future vacancies.
    • Screen, register and shortlist candidates in line with recruitment requirements.
    • Prepare candidates for interviews and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process.
    • Provide candidates with clear and constructive interview feedback.
    • Negotiate job offers, notice periods and terms of employment.
    • Advise candidates on pay rates, training opportunities and career progression.
    • Proactively market suitable candidates to prospective clients.
    • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
    • Ensure candidate records and information are accurate and up to date on the recruitment system.
  • Client Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
    • Understand individual client recruitment needs and provide a tailored service.
    • Manage vacancies from initial brief through to successful placement.
    • Conduct client meetings and visits to maintain relationships and identify opportunities.
    • Provide regular feedback to clients on recruitment activity and service delivery.
    • Develop a strong understanding of client organisations, including their teams, operations and future recruitment requirements.
    • Provide clients with market insight, including salary benchmarking, candidate availability and recruitment trends.
    • Identify opportunities to introduce additional recruitment services where appropriate.
    • Maintain accurate client information on the CRM system.
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
    • Build relationships with prospective clients through calls, meetings, networking and other business development activity.
    • Work towards agreed sales and gross profit targets in line with KPIs.
    • Follow up new business leads and identify opportunities within existing accounts.
    • Support proposal and tender activity where required.
    • Negotiate fees and rates in line with company policies and agreed commercial parameters.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
  • Compliance & Administration:
    • Ensure all recruitment activity is completed in line with company processes and relevant legislation.
    • Complete candidate vetting and required pre-employment checks.
    • Maintain accurate candidate and client records on the CRM system.
    • Ensure written and verbal communication is professional and of a consistently high standard.
    • Support with recruitment administration including references, candidate documentation and other required checks.
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure information is handled appropriately.
    • Complete any other reasonable duties required as part of the role.

What We're Looking For:

You should have either:

  • At least 1 year's recruitment consultancy experience within the last 5 years, or
  • At least 2 years' direct sales experience within the last 5 years in a target-driven environment where you have been responsible for identifying new clients and maintaining existing client relationships.

You will also need:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with clients, candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • A proactive and target-driven approach.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • A full driving licence or access to transport, as travel is required.

Desirable:

  • 2 years' recruitment consultancy experience within the last 5 years, or
  • 3 years' direct sales experience within a target-driven environment.
  • Experience using recruitment databases or CRM systems.
  • Professional recruitment accreditation such as REC or NRF/ERF.
