G4S is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Hospital Security Officer on our University Hospitals Birmingham contract. We provide enhanced rates of pay for unsocial hours, ensuring you are well-compensated for your hard work and dedication.
Candidates MUST have a valid SIA Door Supervisor license to be considered for this role, however, if you have experience in the military, police or prison custody we can provide the relevant SIA Door Supervisor training.

Job Details
- Position: Hospital Security Officer
- Location: Required to cover hospitals in Birmingham, Solihull & Sutton Coldfield
- Pay Rate: £12.36 per hour (£24,102 – £36,000 per annum – this is dependent on the shift pattern and number of shifts worked)
- Nights and Saturdays: £17.43 per hour
- Sundays: £18.54 per hour
- Bank Holidays: £22.62 per hour
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Shifts: Days, Nights, and Weekends
Your Time at Work
As a Hospital Security Officer, you will be responsible for securing three NHS hospitals across Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield & Solihull.
You will:
- Work as part of a team to manage security across different sites
- Utilise keen conflict management skills to de-escalate incidents
- Interact with staff and the public, ensuring adherence to security protocols
- Patrol premises, monitor car parks, and assist with emergency situations
- Conduct searches and monitor CCTV cameras
- Liaise with internal security teams and emergency services when necessar
Our Perfect Worker
- Must be over 18 years of age
- You MUST have a valid Door Supervisor SIA License OR experience in the military, police or prison custody
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the security industry or military, police or prison custody
- Own transport and a full clean UK driving license
- Basic IT skills and understanding of smart mobile use
- Flexibility to work varied shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends
- Experience working security in healthcare is desirable
- Knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding is desirable
