We have a great opportunity to join G4S as a Security Officer, working on a high-profile security site in the Reading area, working in their Physical Security Operations Centre!
Contract Information
- Pay Rate: Β£13.85 per hour
- Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, days & nights
- Shift Timings - 06:00 to 18:00 Days and 18:00 to 06:00 Nights
- Hours per week: 42 hours per week
- SIA Licences: Door Supervisor or Security Guarding
- Security Clearance Required: SC Clearance
You will need to undergo Enhanced Background Checks prior to commencement of the role and be eligible to pass National Security Vetting (SC Clearance) which includes minimum 5 years residency in the UK.
You must have a Full UK Driving licence, which is a requirement to get to the site.
Your Time at Work
As a Security Officer you will be responsible for
- Monitoring multiple NESO sites using CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, and other security management systems.
- Receive, assess, and respond to security alarms and incidents in accordance with established incident management procedures.
- Handling inbound customer and stakeholder calls professionally, obtaining accurate information and recording details.
- Log, categorise, prioritise, and route incidents and service requests using approved systems and processes.
- Escalating security incidents and operational issues in accordance with defined escalation procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and communications.
- Log faults or degradation of security/non-security systems and equipment.
- Contribute positively to team performance and support colleagues during periods of high operational demand.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant security procedures, data protection requirements, and organisational policies.

What we're looking for
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English.
- Valid SIA CCTV Licence maintained throughout employment.
- National Security Vetting (SC Clearance) in date and capable of being transferred/shared with NESO Personnel Security.
- Fluent spoken and written English to CEFR C2 level or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard IT systems.
