Location: Wellingborough

Shift: Mon to Friday - 8hrs a day - on a 6-2 - or a 7-3 - or an 8-4 shift (whatever suits the right candidate)

Contract: Umbrella/PAYE only

Pay Rate: Negotiable

This is a dedicated Mechanical biased Maintenance position on a large, high-volume food production site in Wellingborough. This role is 70% mechanical / 30% Electrical output with any control system knowledge advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • The work is varied and covers both planned and unplanned events.
  • It’s in a modern pneumatic flour mill that will have several different sized motors - ribband and drag chain conveyors - bucket elevators - blowers - compressors - motor gearboxes - rotary air locks.
  • Typical equipment: conveyors, flow-wrappers, multi-head weighers, palletisers, metal detectors, check-weighers, labellers, mixers, ovens, depositors, pumps, compressors, chillers, boilers, refrigeration plant.
  • Electrical PPMs (if E-biased): insulation testing, thermal imaging, drive checks, motor condition monitoring, control panel inspections, emergency light testing.
  • Mechanical PPMs (if M-biased): bearing replacement, chain tensioning, gearbox oil changes, pump/valve servicing, belt tracking, vibration checks.
  • Update and close off all jobs on the site CMMS system.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Time-served apprenticeship or formal qualification (NVQ L3 / City & Guilds / ONC / HNC) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience within food, beverage, dairy or FMCG manufacturing (essential).
  • Comfortable methodically working through a structured PPM plan with excellent attention to details.
  • Happy to work alone for the full hour shift on Monday to Friday.
  • Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
