On-Site Canteen Chef
Staffline is recruiting a On-Site Canteen Chef in
Bodmin.
In this role, you will be responsible for running the canteen smoothly-from cooking hot meals and preparing fresh food for both morning and evening shifts to maintaining strict hygiene standards and managing inventory.
The rate of pay is
£15.75 per hour.
This is a full-time role working
Monday to Friday
hours of work are:
- 9:30am to 2:30pm
Your Time at Work
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality, nutritious meals for the morning shift.
- Batch-cook and prepare food to ensure seamless meal service for the incoming twilight shift.
Customer Service
- Serve meals to staff and visitors in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Address basic dietary requirements and handle routine customer feedback positively.
Stock Management & Ordering
- Manage stock levels, check deliveries for freshness, and practice proper stock rotation.
- Place regular ingredient and supply orders within designated food budget guidelines.
- Ensure strict compliance with local food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and health regulations.
- Maintain precise temperature control logs for food storage and serving equipment.
Deep Cleaning & Maintenance
- Carry out daily cleaning schedules and perform routine deep cleans of kitchen equipment, prep areas, and food counters.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the entire kitchen and dining space.
Our Perfect Worker
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience as a Canteen Chef, Commis/Sous Chef, or Solo Cook in a commercial kitchen or corporate catering environment.
- Certifications: Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred).
Skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to cook for one shift while prepping for another.
- Basic record-keeping skills for stock takes and hygiene checklists.
- Welcoming, customer-focused attitude
