We are now seeking to recruit a Tool Room Technician to support the tool room operations within a manufacturing facility in Birmingham. The appropriate Toolroom technician will ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and availability of tools and equipment required for production.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of tools and equipment, including machining tools, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments, to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with tools and equipment and perform repairs as necessary to minimize downtime and production delays.
- Assist in the calibration of precision tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of tools and equipment as needed for maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all tool-related activities, including maintenance procedures, repair records, inventory transactions, and other relevant information.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience working in a tool room or maintenance role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Injection Moulding experience.
- Competent with conventional machining.
- Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment, including machining tools, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively for maintenance and repair tasks.
