Overview
Van Driver | Belfast | £13.50+ per hour
Our client, a document and storage specialist, is seeking a Van Driver (with warehouse duties) to join their business on an initial temporary to permanent basis at their site in Belfast.
Key duties
- Putting files / boxes away in warehouse, using handheld scanner, scanning item and location
- Retrieving items from warehouse in preparation for delivery
- Maintaining tidy warehouse
- Responding to urgent customer requests for files / boxes
- Coordinating with office staff to ensure orders are picked accordingly.
- Receiving inbound records into the facility by scanning, auditing against paperwork
- Driving duties as necessary / required – delivering boxes and files to customers within specific time frame, collecting files / boxes from customers to return to facility and ensuring all paperwork in order
- On-Call duties outside normal working hours – being available to retrieve records for customers outside normal working hours and delivering as appropriate (circa 1 week in 4)
- Occasionally computer work in office, creating workorders & pick lists from customer requests, dealing with customer queries on phone etc
Experience / Skills necessary
- Clean driving licence
- Previous warehouse experience in busy fast-moving goods environment preferred
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety
- Ability to deal with customers and office staff alike
- Accuracy and attention to detail essential.
- Ability to pass a Basic Access NI check
Hours of Work
- 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday
- Occasional on-call work over weekends (1 in 4)
Rate
- £13.50 per hour (rising to £14.80 after 12 weeks/being made permanent)
