A growing and well-established accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to support its expanding client portfolio. This is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to step into a broader role, combining technical delivery, client interaction, and early-stage leadership responsibilities.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with senior leadership, supporting the delivery of accounts and advisory services while mentoring junior team members and building strong client relationships. This role offers exposure to a variety of work including accounts preparation, tax, and project-based assignments such as transactions and business support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review year-end accounts for a range of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Assist with tax computations and returns (experience beneficial but not essential)
- Support ad-hoc projects including transactions, M&A activity, and raising finance
- Supervise and mentor junior team members
- Assist in managing team workflow and deadlines
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Minimum 1 year PQE within an accountancy practice (2+ years for Assistant Manager level)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
- Strong IT skills including Excel
Desirable:
- Audit experience
- Exposure to advisory or project-based work
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff
