Our Client, a large public sector organisation based in Ballymoney, require a Gardener/Greenkeeper to join their team.
Location: Ballymoney
Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week
Hourly Rate: 1-12 week £12.74, 13 week £13.69
Main Duties:
- Oversee horticulture and/or fine turf maintenance works in Council facilities, public parks, sports grounds and similar open spaces, to the standards required.
- Present a courteous attitude at all times by assisting with the promotion of good working relationships between Council staff and members of the public.
- Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
Essential Criteria:
- An NVQ Level 2 qualification in Horticulture or Sports Turf or equivalent qualification which is relevant to the post.
- OR demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of 18 months' horticulture and/or fine turf maintenance experience gained in a commercial setting to include: supervisory experience; planting duties, such as planting design, propagation, construction, weeding and shrub care; maintenance of soft landscaping; irrigation and drainage work; fine turf construction/repair/maintenance (bowling/golf/tennis surfaces); set-up, safe use and routine maintenance of horticultural and grounds maintenance equipment, to include the use of powered and manual hand tools and ride-on grounds machinery.
- A full current driving licence (Category C1, valid in the UK).
